The Babylon Journey

I think I've lost count of how many times someone mentioned The Longest Journey game here and there. And I've lost count of how many times the similarities between Babylon 5 and the game were mentioned.

Eventually, I got my hands on the game, and I guess non of the similarities were too exaggerated.

The game itself appears to be a rather crazy mixture of quite a few things. Some things appear too similar to be accident. At some you are given a chance to read a bit on the history of the world around you, and if this paragraph won't raise an eyebrow of a B5 fan, nothing will.

"The august Capital of Ayrede, the Unified Country, Marcuria lies on the hardy Southern coast of the Northlands, halfway between Tyren and Corescent.
It is a port of call for merchants, traders, adventurers and pilgrims from all four Continents.
A place of commerce and diplomacy for millions of humans and and other species."

If this sounds familiar, but you can't quite place it, I've made a short audio remix of the words spoken by Sheridan and Sinclair in seasons 1 and 2 :)

I guess the whole culture as we know it could at some point be traced back to the point where a monkey picked up a rock, but if The Balance is not The Force, and those Mole People are not Ewok, I might be getting old ;-)

Although I seem to understand why people seem to like the game so much, it would appear it might've been "Touched by a Vorlon" :D
